What Fixers collects, why we collect it, and who can see it.
Who we are and what this policy covers
Fixers is a local directory that connects people in Addis Ababa with service professionals — electricians, plumbers, repair technicians and others. It is operated by Addis Spot in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This policy covers the website at addisspot.com/fixers and the Fixers Android app, which simply displays that website. By using either one you agree to how we handle information as described here.
In short: we collect only what is needed to publish your listing or request and to put people in touch with each other. We do not sell your information, we do not run advertising, and we use no third-party analytics or tracking.
Only what you type into a form
We collect information when you choose to submit one of the forms on the site:

We never ask for payment details, national ID numbers, or any other sensitive financial or identity information — please do not post such information.
The important bit — please read
Fixers works by publishing contact details. When you register as a fixer or leave a review, the name and phone number you enter are shown on a public page.
That means anyone can see them, including people who are not logged in, and they can be copied or found through search engines. Please treat anything you submit like a notice on a public noticeboard: do not include information you want to keep private.
If you would rather not publish your phone number, please don't submit a form — there is no way to take part anonymously, because the whole point is that people can contact you directly.
Only the details you type are published. We do not display your IP address, your session cookie, or the "Saved" list on your device.
Two small pieces of data, neither used for tracking
PHPSESSID) — a temporary cookie
that lets a form session work and prevents rapid repeat posting. It expires when
your session ends, and it is never used to follow you around the internet.
fixers.favs.v1) — the ids of fixers
you saved, kept in your own browser so the "Saved" list survives a page reload.
You can clear it at any time from your browser settings, or by clearing the app's
storage on your phone.
There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics scripts on this site.

Public display, hosting, and outside apps
What the app itself does — and doesn't — collect
The Fixers app for Android is a simple viewer for this website. It requests only internet access, contains no advertising or analytics software, and does not collect or transmit any information about you or your device on its own.
Everything you do inside the app goes to the same website described in this policy, so the same rules apply. The app also keeps the site's local storage — such as your "Saved" list — on your own device. Clearing the app's storage in Android settings removes it, and uninstalling the app removes everything the app stored locally.
Published until you ask otherwise
Listings and reviews stay published until you ask us to remove them or until we remove them ourselves. Session data is temporary, and server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period.
You can ask us to take it down
Email info@fixers.et with a link to the page concerned and what you would like removed or corrected — a listing or a review. We will action reasonable requests.
Please note two limits: copies that search engines or other people have already made can persist outside our control, and we may need to keep some records where the law requires it.
Age limits and the limits of any public site
Fixers is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has posted information here, contact us and we will remove it.
We take reasonable steps to protect information — the site is served over HTTPS, database access is restricted, and stored IP addresses are hashed. However, no website can promise perfect security, and anything you publish publicly is by its nature visible to others. Please share only what you are comfortable making public.
Effective 2 October 2026
We may update this policy from time to time; when we do, we will change the effective date shown on this page. Continuing to use Fixers after a change means you accept the updated policy.
